You may
register here to be an international
member of the Who may register as a member of the clann? Anyone whose surname is Gallagher, or any variant thereof, such as Gallaher, Gallacher, Galliger, Gollaher, etc., or whose mother's maiden name was Gallagher (et al), or whose grandparents or great grandparents were Gallaghers (et al). What if I was adopted into a Gallagher family? No problem. Adoption, legally as well as traditionally, makes you just as much an heir to the surname as if you were born with it. What is the cost to register as a member of the clann? Right now, nothing. What a deal! A lot of time and expense has gone into these pages since 1997, but to this point it has been a labor of love by the webmaster. We could sure use some financial support, though, so if you care to contribute anything at all, please write me! Why should I register? For the time being, we are merely building a database of members. Soon, we will be announcing other membership benefits such as a membership card, membership scroll, web space for your family pages and a monthly newsletter. Will you use my e-mail or home address to SPAM me? Absolutely not. I loathe and detest SPAM. Your address and registration information is not shared with anyone. Period. What information must I give to register? Please give all information asked for below. It really doesn't do much good to simply register a name. We need to now where our members live and what interests they have, as well as a little about their ancestry where that information is available. What else can I do to support the clann? Well, you can buy books at Amazon.com, or register at iGive.com. This would help, but honestly, we have made a grand total of thirty bucks in the last three years this way. This is partly because I have not pushed these revenue making affiliations because I don't want to give the impression this is simply another "dot.com" money making scheme. It isn't. I have spent hundreds, perhaps over a thousand dollars of my own money on software, server costs, domain registration, research and the like. If you really want to be involved, write me and offer to edit web pages, do research, help establish a membership database and stuff like that. Or donate money. It's even tax deductible! It's true, we have a bona-fide U.S. non profit, tax exempt status. I am unsure about the tax status for residents outside the United States. Any other questions? Write me at: himself@ogallagher.org. |
